Inspiração: This proposal is inspired in the wildfires that kill jaguars and other species. The jaguar has been a symbol of strength and wisdom in different cultures throughout the centuries. To see such a strong and resilient creature being destroyed by the consequences of Global Warming caused by humans, is absolutely devastating and heart breaking.
Wild meets wild in this proposal. I chose flamingos to be part of the body of the jaguar since they symbolize love, balance and beauty in some cultures. Flamingos are social creatures that live in very large flocks. They also develop bonds when mating and in different belief systems they represent our social nature to create trustworthy community ties. In my design proposal I painted the flamingos as a explosion of warm colors over a cooler background to simulate its feathers as fire that wrap the jaguar. In this case not the kind of fire that kills it, but the one that embraces and protects its soul in a natural and passionate way. The idea of placing two flamingos in each of the profiles and the front part of the jaguar was to evoke a heart shaped by the proximity of their heads, mixing a bit of humor, love and wildness.
