#583 - Spots
Designed By Amanda Charão (Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil)
Inspiração: Looking from afar, the pattern resembles the jaguar coat, with it's spots and rosettes. But, looking closely, it's possible to see the heart shapes that compose the rosettes. Just as for the animals, it shows that there's much more to it when you allow yourself to learn about it. There is life. The black and white painting was chosen to emulate the printmaking characteristic of ink on paper, the main medium of my work.
Amanda Charão's Bio': My work is about the human body, it's caracteristics and weaknesses, and mental health, how it affects our body, mind and connection to the world. I work mostly with printmaking techniques as silkscreen, woodcut, etching and linocut, many times producing hybrids with other materials as textiles, watercolor and embroidery.
