Majo Portilla's Bio': For 22 years now, I’ve been painting across the globe, from Amsterdam, Guatemala, USA, Basel, Dubai to Hilversum where I currently reside. With a wealth of experience accrued over my travels, I channel them into my bold semi-abstract pieces that command the vibrancy of my artistic career.
With oil and acrylics as my core painting mediums, I assess the human condition and draws out the inner beauty and strengths of my subjects. Often clad in intricately textured outfits, my figures are mostly devoid of any facial features, prompting my viewers to look not at the surface, but introspectively at the qualities of the mental and emotional states.
